It’s time again for our annual Run to eRace Child Abuse and this year, because of COVID, we are going virtual.
Also because of COVID, the need to spread awareness about child abuse is more important than ever. Domestic violence cases are on the rise, which makes children in the home victim to this crime. At TruLight127 Ministries, we have seen a significant rise in children being placed in foster care during COVID.
This year, we have TWO ways to help us spread awareness about child abuse and we’re hoping that you can take to social media to tell everybody you know.
THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO HELP:
View last year’s Run to eRace Child Abuse
Our virtual race is a 5K/10K or run/walk to participate, but runners will keep their own times and will be entered onto the leaderboard. Registrants will receive their official eRace Child Abuse shirts and their race medals, which will be mailed to your home.
How you can RUN & HELP spread awareness about child abuse: post your times and a picture and tag TruLight127 Ministries. Share this page or our race page and ask others to learn more & donate to support foster children.
For those who don’t like to run, we have another way that you can help us spread the word about the need to end child abuse: Adopt-A-Bed!
When a child or a teen enters foster care, the immediate emergency costs of basic needs for the child are ~$250. With the expansion of our foster shelter, TruLight Youth Village, we will have 35 beds for emergency foster placement.
Our goal is to have 35 individual fundraisers, like you, sign up and set a goal to raise $250 each by adopting a bed for a child that’s been placed in emergency foster care. 35 beds adopted x $250/bed = $8,750 raised for foster kids!
It’s simple: More mouths to tell the story = More ears to hear and share!
It’s easy to sign up & become an individual fundraiser. Just click the button below, register as a fundraiser, and we will automatically generate for you, your own personal fundraising webpage PLUS text-to-donate code! All you have to do is share the information on social media until your goal of $250 is met!
