🎄 Be the Light This Christmas

Because every child deserves to feel loved, and every family deserves to know they aren't doing this alone.

Christmas is a special time at TruLight127 Ministries. It's a season filled with opportunities to love children, encourage families, reconnect with those who have been part of our journey, and remind them that they are never forgotten.

But we can't do it without you!

This Christmas, we're inviting our churches, businesses, friends, and community partners to come alongside us as we celebrate and support the foster, adoptive, and kinship families who show up for children every single day.

Give a gift. Volunteer your time. Sponsor a family. Help us make Christmas a little brighter.

❤️ Caring for the Families Who Show Up Every Day

Our TruLight family doesn't stop at the Village doors.

Throughout our community are foster, adoptive, and kinship families doing the hard, beautiful, and often unseen work of loving children from hard places.

24 hours a day. 7 days a week.

They are there for the middle-of-the-night fears.

The behaviors that don't always make sense until you understand the story underneath them.

The appointments, school meetings, caseworker visits, therapy sessions, court dates, paperwork, medication schedules, family visits, and endless calendar juggling.

They are learning how to parent children whose experiences may have taught them that adults aren't safe, people leave, or love comes with conditions.

And they keep showing up.

That matters.

These families are doing so much more than providing a bed and putting food on the table.

They are helping children experience safety, consistency, connection, and belonging.

And the sometimes slow, sometimes messy process of learning that an adult can be trusted to stay.

For many of these families, there isn't an "off" button. Trauma doesn't take Christmas break. In fact, the holidays can bring more emotions, more memories, and more challenges for children who have experienced separation, loss, abuse, or neglect.

While much of the world is slowing down and celebrating, these caregivers are still doing the work.

Even on Christmas morning.

This Christmas, we want to care for the caregivers, too:

🎁 Wrap Around a Family This Christmas

Sometimes supporting a child means supporting the adults who are doing everything they can to care for that child.

A grocery gift card can mean one less expense to worry about.

Christmas presents can mean a foster parent doesn't have to figure out how to stretch an already tight budget for a child who arrived unexpectedly.

A restaurant or activity gift card can give an adoptive family an opportunity to make a special memory together.

Helping with Christmas dinner can take one thing off the plate of a kinship grandparent who suddenly found themselves raising children again.

And sometimes the greatest gift is simply knowing: Someone sees us, too.

We see the sacrifice. We see the exhaustion. We see the appointments and advocacy no one posts pictures of.

We see the victories that might look tiny to everyone else but are enormous in their home.

We see the parents who keep learning, adjusting, apologizing, trying again, and showing up.

And we see the love.

Not the picture-perfect kind.

The kind of love that stays when things are hard.

When you give through our Be the Light This Christmas campaign, you're not just putting presents under a tree.

You're wrapping around a family that has chosen to wrap around a child.

Your generosity can help provide Christmas gifts, groceries, gift cards, meals, family experiences, and other practical needs that give caregivers a little breathing room during an already demanding season.

Because if we want children from hard places to have strong, healthy families surrounding them, we have to take care of those families, too.

They show up for our kids every day. This Christmas, let's show up for them.

🎄 TruLight127 Annual Christmas Bash 2026

One Night. Lots of Christmas Cheer. A Whole Lot of Love.

One of our favorite TruLight traditions is our Annual Christmas Bash!

This is a special evening where we bring together our current and former foster, adoptive, and kinship families for food, games, laughter, fellowship, and Christmas memories.

For some families, it's an opportunity to reconnect with people who walked alongside them during their foster care or adoption journey. For others, it may be their very first TruLight Christmas celebration.

But for all of them, it's a reminder that they belong.

Once you're part of the TruLight family, you're always family!

🎁 Prefer to Shop? We Would Love That, Too!

There are so many ways to help make Christmas special!

We welcome donations of new, unwrapped gifts and practical items for children and teens, as well as items that help support the families caring for them.

Some of our most helpful Christmas donations include:

For Children & Teens:

Gift cards • Headphones • Bluetooth speakers • Art supplies • Journals • Sports equipment • Board games • LEGO and building sets • Dolls • Cars and action figures • Beauty and self-care items • Backpacks • Pajamas • Hoodies • Cozy blankets • Books • Games and craft supplies

For Foster, Adoptive & Kinship Families:

Grocery gift cards • Restaurant gift cards • Family activity passes • Christmas meal supplies • Household essentials • Gift cards for clothing and necessities

As Christmas gets closer and we learn more about the specific needs of the children and families we are serving, individual wish lists may also be shared when possible.

Every gift is another way of reminding a child or caregiver that someone is thinking about them.

❤️ Help Us Be Ready for Whoever Needs Us

That's really what this Christmas campaign is about.

We don't know exactly which family may call and need a little extra help.

We don't know which teenager may be spending their first Christmas away from home.

We don't know which caregiver may be feeling overwhelmed trying to make Christmas special while managing everything else life has placed on their shoulders.

And we don't know which child may need a safe place to land just days before Christmas.

  • But we can be ready.

  • Ready with a present.

  • Ready with a Christmas meal.

  • Ready with a gift card.

  • Ready with a celebration where families feel welcome.

  • Ready with people willing to show up and make a hard season feel a little less hard.

Because presents are wonderful, and Christmas parties are fun, but long after the wrapping paper is gone and the decorations are put away, we want our children and families to remember something much bigger:

Someone thought about me.

Someone showed up.

I wasn't forgotten.

This is what Be the Light This Christmas is all about.

We would love for you to be part of it.

Give. Volunteer. Sponsor. Share. Pray.

Together, we can make Christmas brighter for the children and families we serve.

Thank you for continuing to be part of what God is doing through TruLight127 Ministries.

Once TruLight family, always TruLight family. ❤️

BE THE LIGHT THIS CHRISTMAS

Help us make Christmas brighter for children and families connected to TruLight127.

Christmas should be filled with moments children remember—the excitement of opening a gift, favorite foods, laughter, traditions, staying up too late, Christmas lights, and the feeling of knowing someone thought about you.

But for children and families walking through foster care, kinship care, adoption, financial hardship, or significant transitions, Christmas can also bring some really hard emotions.
This Christmas, TruLight127 Ministries is asking our community to help us show up.

Through Be the Light This Christmas, we will provide Christmas support for children and families across TruLight127—including foster families, adoptive families, kinship families, and the children and teens calling TruLight Youth Village home.
